How to import recipes from Instagram

Quick answer: On Instagram, tap Share → Share to… → CookBook. Choose Save to CookBook to store it instantly or Edit recipe to tweak tags, notes, or nutrition first. CookBook pulls the recipe from the caption - or follows any link in the post if the caption is empty.

How to import from Instagram (step-by-step)

Find a recipe on Instagram you'd like to import
Tap the Share button (bottom left)
Tap Share to… (iOS) or Share (Android).
Pick CookBook in the app list.

Don’t see it? Add CookBook to your share sheet: see iOS Guide and Android Guide.

Choose:

Save to CookBook: Saves the recipe immediately without opening the CookBook app.
Edit recipe: opens CookBook so you can add tags, change servings, or upload photos before saving.

Quick tips

Caption first: Imports work best when the full recipe is written in the caption or first comment.
No caption? CookBook looks for a website link in the post and tries to import from there.
Copy-link fallback: Copy the video URL → open CookBook → tap Paste on the dashboard → Confirm.
